At MED+, we take great pride in helping people live a more independent life. Our medical equipment and services help people stay as comfortable as possible in their homes.
Recently, we had the opportunity to take part in helping a family as part of the television show, Holmes Family Rescue.
The show features Mike Holmes, his daughter Sherry, and his son Michael. They come together to rescue homeowners from botched construction jobs and renovation fatigue.
We welcomed the chance to be involved with making Noah’s home accessible and functional for him, to support independent living at home now and into the future as he ages.
Here is a description of the episode:
“Just as a homeowner was about to give birth, she and her partner were scammed by a contractor who left them with a mess of a kitchen. Before the Holmes family can make the home accessible, they must fix the dangerous structural issues left behind.”
MED+ was happy to supply and install accessibility features as part of a larger bathroom renovation. A fully accessible bathroom was designed and built to meet Noah’s mobility needs. The spacious bathroom allowed for easier access to the shower, toilet, and sink.
We strategically installed grab bars throughout the bathroom. They were placed along the walls, beside and behind the toilet and in the walk-in shower. We installed a movable shower chair to make the shower easier for Noah and easier for his parents to provide care.
